Refund Policy
Chiral Audio plugins are digital goods delivered by download and activated with a license key. Once a license key is redeemed and active on a system, the software has been put to use. This policy sets out the narrow circumstances under which a refund is possible.
Short version. Refunds are available when the license key has not yet been activated, when an activated key can be revoked, or within seven days of purchase. Refunds are issued through Paddle to the original payment method. Outside those conditions, purchases are non-refundable.
1. When a refund is possible
A refund of a plugin purchase may be issued if any of the following applies at the time the request is received:
- The license key has never been activated. If the key has not yet been redeemed on any system, a refund is available without further conditions.
- The license key has been activated but can be revoked. If the key has been used but we are able to remotely disable it, ending your ability to run the plugin, a refund is available contingent on the revocation being confirmed.
- Fewer than seven (7) days have passed since the purchase. If you request a refund within seven days of the transaction date, a refund is available regardless of activation status, subject to license-key revocation.
To request a refund, email [email protected] from the email address used at checkout, including your order number or receipt. Refunds are issued through Paddle to the original payment method. Processing by your bank or card network typically takes three to ten business days after the refund is issued.
A refund terminates the license and revokes the associated key. You must uninstall the plugin and remove the license key from any system under your control. Continued use after a refund is a breach of the Terms of Service.
2. EU, UK, and other statutory rights
Consumers in the European Union and United Kingdom have statutory rights to withdraw from a distance purchase of digital content. Those rights may be waived at checkout if you explicitly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the download begins. Where statutory rights apply and have not been waived, they prevail over the conditions in Section 1.
Nothing in this policy limits consumer rights that cannot be waived under your local law.
3. What is non-refundable
- Purchases where the license key has been activated, cannot be revoked, and more than seven days have passed since the transaction date.
- Purchases made through a third-party reseller, bundle, or distributor. Those are governed by the reseller's refund policy.
- Partial refunds for individual products inside the Catalog V1 Bundle, unless Chiral Audio explicitly approves a partial refund. Bundle refunds normally revoke the full bundle license.
- Plugins obtained as part of a promotional giveaway, educational grant, or free bundle.
- Purchases we determine to be fraudulent, abusive, or made in bad faith, including repeated purchases and refunds of the same product.
4. Technical problems and bugs
If a plugin does not work correctly on a supported system, contact [email protected] regardless of the refund window and we will make a reasonable effort to resolve the issue. If we cannot resolve it, we will issue a full refund regardless of activation status or time since purchase.
Supported systems are listed on each plugin's product page. Unsupported operating systems, digital audio workstations, or plugin formats are not grounds for a refund under Section 1.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version in effect on the date of your purchase governs that purchase.
